The four Wharton grads who conceived Warby Parker during their time at Penn continue to make large splashes into retail.
The 3-year-old altruistic eyewear brand will announce Tuesday that it has added Millard "Mickey" S. Drexler, the CEO of J.Crew as a director, reports NYT's DealBook. Drexler will become the seventh board member to join Warby Parker, including the four founders of the brand and reps from its investment firms.
Drexler has expressed interest in Warby Parker for some time now- In February, Drexler and American Express announced that they were investing in the sustainable eyewear company. He is already an advisor the brand.
“We’ve tried to be very deliberate in getting people with specific expertise,” Warby Parker co-founder Neil Blumenthal said then in an interview with the Times.
