Buttercup, the amputee duck, walks again thanks to 3D printed foot
Buttercup is a sweet little 9-month-old rescue duck that was born with a backwards foot.
His handicap made walking and waddling a tough task and his caretaker decided it was best to amputate the foul foot. It was likely that the deformed appendage would cause a lifetime of complications.
Rather than sticking the duck with a peg leg, Feathered Angels Waterfowl Sanctuary proposed that he would be better off with a brand new foot. Thanks to the advanced technology of 3D printing, Buttercup is now happily waddling around on two fully-functional feet.
