THE Daily News Pet of the Week is Egon, a 1-to-2-year-old pit-bull mix at the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society. Egon (above) is sweet, loves to play and is patient. He could live with female dogs of the same size and with older children, but prefers no cats.

He's eager to learn, and with some basic obedience training he would be a terrific family dog.
