Top 10 most overpaid workers

In today’s economy many feel fortunate to just have a job that pays the bills. While some live comfortably, others struggle to make ends meet.

But how often do you hear of workers who are making too much money?

Consulting software engineers, accounting consultants and patent attorneys are just some of the positions U.S. News recently ranked in its list of the 10 most overpaid jobs.

The list was compiled by analyzing data from PayScale to find the occupations where employees have relatively high salaries for doing relatively easy work.

The final list was based off three things; jobs with median pay well above the norm, how stressful workers said their job is, and how meaningful the employees said their work is.

Consulting software engineers, for example, have a mid-career salary at $123,000. While the position involves designing and maintaining sophisticated computer networks for large companies and organizations, the work can sometimes be dry.

The full list of jobs from U.S. News is posted below:

–Consulting software engineer (median mid-career salary: $123,000)

–Brand strategist ($90,700)

–Interaction designer ($116,000)

–Marketing research director ($122,000)

–Accounting consultant ($81,700)

–Portfolio analyst ($81,800)

–Wholesaler, financial services ($109,000)

–Patent attorney ($170,000)

–Investment consultant ($111,000)

–Data scientist, IT ($133,000)

Right. Ignore the CEO behind the curtain. Blame 'overpaid' workers for your lot in life.

Isn't it funny how the leftist media is now attacking individual workers and what they get paid?

I guess there's no reason to write an article about the millions who do no work yet get paid thousands per year on benefits provided by these working people.

Lenin, Chavez, Trotsky, Engles would all be proud of this article.

Oh what's a matter Carl do the nasty facts from ZeroHedge expose your Dear Leader for who he and you are?

Nice to see under Obama nearly 20% of the US adult population is on foodstamps.

I guess you consider that success though.

Isn't it funny how the right wing has spent the last 10 years bashing teachers and government employees for how much they get paid?

Don't be a hypocrite, professor! Don't be wet, water!

How did they measure the work to determine that it's overpaid?

Overpaid by what measure? Some unemployed stay-at-home, or low educated minimum wage worker? Each of the jobs noted require higher education and work ethic. Both of which are sorely lacking in this "you owe me because ......" environment as fostered by the current administration.

Reminds me of the chubby guy from "Office Space" when the "consultants" ask him what he really does: "I already told you! I deal with the g--d--- customers so the engineers don't have to! I HAVE PEOPLE SKILLS!"
