Wood's Citko drawn to Owls

Temple's football program has again made a large impression on a local prospect.

And this time, the kid is one of the biggest of the big'uns.

Adam Citko, a rising-senior tackle from Archbishop Wood High who goes 6-5, 300 pounds, has committed to the Owls.

Citko said his other current offer was from the University of Central Florida, but that he was also being eyed by Connecticut, Rutgers, Pitt and Notre Dame.

"All of these schools indicate that they are interested, but would like to review senior film," Citko said. "I had the opportunity to spend some time with the Temple staff and [head coach Al Golden, assistant Matt Rhule] really exhibited what I am looking for in a coaching staff."

Temple makes the most sense, he said, in part because his mother, Mary, and sister, Brianna, will be able to see him play. His father, Adam, a former basketball player at North Catholic, is deceased. *
