After seeing what the Red Wings did to Colorado, it's hard not to pick Detroit to win - and win very quickly. But I like Dallas, which has faced tougher competition the first two rounds and has had 4 days off to nurse any wounds. Nobody can match the Red Wings in talent, but I like the Stars' grit. Dallas in 6.
Like the Flyers, the caliber of opponents Dallas has beaten to get to this point is more impressive than the Red Wings' path, and has forged a more resolved and exacting team. The Stars play as if there is little margin of error, which is the formula for success this time of year. Dallas in 6.
As we all know, it's all about the goalie. The Red Wings' switch to Chris Osgood has been the difference and will be the difference. Vegas sees it lopsided. Who's to argue? Detroit in 5.
Dallas set the tone against Anaheim and San Jose, winning the opening games on the road. If the Stars can do that again, they have a good chance. But Detroit is just too good, has too much offense and Johan Franzen is too hot. Detroit in 6.
