The only missing piece for Methacton High to become an official member of the Pioneer Athletic Conference is the approval of PAC-10 principals.
Phoenixville principal Rich Kaskey, the PAC-10 president, says he expects Methacton's application to garner the necessary unanimous vote.
"I don't think there's going to be any issues," Kaskey said. "We should have no problem."
On Tuesday night, the Methacton School Board voted, 8-0, in favor of moving from the Suburban One American Conference to the PAC-10 beginning with the 2008-09 school year.
The only remaining hurdle was a tally from the nine PAC-10 principals. As of yesterday, Kaskey had received five votes. He expects to have the remaining four votes by Tuesday.
Methacton's admittance would give the league an even 10 schools after Lansdale Catholic departs for the Catholic League following this school year.
The other conference teams are Boyertown, Owen J. Roberts, Perkiomen Valley, Pottsgrove, Pottstown, St. Pius X, Spring-Ford and Upper Perkiomen.
