Asante Samuel hurt

Asante Samuel, the Eagles top free agent addition in the off season, became the first injury of training camp.

Eagles coach Andy Reid said the cornerback strained his right hamstring this morning.  An injury to his left hamstring had kept him out of the Eagles voluntary camp last month.

Samuel pulled up during a seven-on-seven drill as he was covering receiver Greg Lewis.

Samuel left the field with trainer Rick Burkholder.

Reid updated Samuel's condition following the afternoon practice.

"He felt better when he got inside," he said. "He was more positive after he left the field. He'll probably have an MRI tomorrow."
