Fire officials were having a difficult time reaching a vehicle fire on Interstate 76 due to Thursday morning's massive snowstorm.

Fire officials said the call came in at 11:51 p.m. Wednesday. Fire trucks and medic units were having a hard time getting to the vehicle in the eastbound lane of I-76, heading toward City Avenue. Officials said that fire trucks and other vehicles were stuck in the snow.

It is unclear if there were any injuries.

Traffic was disrupted on Interstate 76 eastbound near 30th and Market streets and a ramp was closed westbound at Exit 344 on Interstate 676.

According to 511 PA, Pennsylvania's official travel information service, a ramp on I-76 westbound at West Exit 340B north Roosevelt Boulevard was closed shortly after midnight.

The National Weather Service Forecast Office reported that snow fall rates may reach three inches per an hour overnight, but are currently at one to two inches.

Visibilities may be reduced to a half of a mile or less. The National Weather Service Forecast warned that "roadways continue to be very hazardous across the area. It is best to stay indoors and not to travel unless absolutely necessary."
