T.O.? THE ANSWER IS NO.

T.O.? THE ANSWER IS NO.
Bob Brookover
Sometimes you have to ask the question even when you know the answer. Otherwise, you've made an assumption and you know what they say about people who assume.
So the question was asked of the Eagles this morning: Safe to assume you guys have no interest in the recently released Terrell Owens?
"No interest," a team source revealed.
Shocking. A lot of people are now predicting that T.O. will end up in Oakland, following in the career-ending footsteps of his former teammate Jerry Rice. The only difference between Rice and T.O. are the Super Bowl rings and playoff wins.
Hard to believe that T.O. hasn't been on the field for a playoff victory since catching the game-winning pass from Steve Young in a 1999 game against Brett Favre and the Green Bay Packers. The NFL Network broadcast that game last night and it was a lot of fun to watch for a number of reasons.
You saw a slimmed-down Andy Reid in his final season as the Packers' quarterbacks coach, Reggie White playing in his final game with the Packers and T.O. crying for the first time -- but not the last -- in his turbulent career.
CORRECTION: I incorrectly reported Stacy Andrews' base salary for 2009 and his the overall value of his contract in today's paper. The base salary for 2009 is $1.62 million and the overall value of the deal is $38.5 million not including incentives and escalator clauses.
Good jaydes
Bob, check your facts. TO caught 1 or 2 TDs in a classic playoff comeback by SF against the giants in early 2003. though i recall TO had a stupid unsportsmanlike call against him late in that game. it was a great performance in one of the best playoff games of the decade. i hate TO and don't want him anywhere near philly, but give him his props for that game. SF went on to get blown out by Tampa Bay in the div round, and we don't need to recap the unspeakable tragedy that went down the week after in the vet's last game. dukealex
I would also say another glaring difference was that Rice was a team player and solid role model. I would rather my children look up to Kevin Curtis. ematusko
T.O. and Allen Iverson will never, ever, ever win a championship. Ever. TheDude
Lets have a story book ending and bring back T.O. and give McNabb the Weapon he needs so badly to win the Super Bowl. Welcome Back T. O. xmar
You're Wrong. He was on the field for the come back victory against the G-Men in 02-03. JIMMY D
WE WANT T.O. BACK! NeverSunnyInPhiladelphia
Bring 2 back! With 2, Curtis and Jackson McNabb will put up ridiculous numbers! Clarkeisgod
Yeah but seriously ... wouldn't it be hilarious if he was one of the WEAPONS the front office brings in that #5 was begging for? Heh. "You SAID you wanted weapons, Donovan! We got you T.O. back! Now about that contract renegotiation ..." nhphilly
I'd take him back in a heartbeat. IMPAQ
Xmar forgot his meds today. gtb513
nope, no T.O. Get Tory Holt da*nit !! Will.i.Am

I don't think T.O. ever sold his house in N.J. What a team we would have with T. O. Curtis and Jackson. I see another Parade. xmar
Dude, you left #5 off your list TomM

sign him upa Serge_Matthews
Oh but we went to a SB the year TO was here, and we didn't go to a SB when he wasn't here. So by that logic if we don't want him we don't want to go to a SB. Therefore it's true the only thing the FO cares about is mediocrity. I knew it. Murrayman
make mcnabb and t.o. sit in the same room together and tell them that they cant get out until they settle their differences. Then sign t.o. to a one year contract and after that win the super bowl. ConservativePatriot22
They're not going anywhere in 2009, or until they get rid of 5, so why not bring him back just for entertainment value? bark
Why? For what? For Whom? Burgh

Thanks gtb513, I'm medicated and so Happy we have a chance to get T.O. back in Green. xmar

FIRE BANNER AND REID NOW bow
Sign TO and tell McNabb a loose cannon is a weapon. Grow up and be professional to both, they are a dangerous combo together. Very few teams could cover both Jackson and TO. Never will happen but he fits our need minus the attitude. who123
No way please. The NFL.com is also saying we traded Greg Lewis. DO NOT BRING BACK T O. JMOMMOM
jerry jones must have fell and hit his head-he finally came to his senses. If I remember correctly McNabb talked TO into leaving a agreed upon Baltimore signing. The Eagles finally wised up and got rid of half the Abbott & Costello team when they send TO packing. Now is the time to (move-get rid of) the other 1/2 (McNabb) of the clown twosome. jwatson
"red zone scoring threat that got us to the Super Bowl already? no interest." MTbelly
If we resign T.O. and didn't sign Dawkins? I seriously believe there will be riots in Philly!!! Katharine
palezze. fool me once.....foolme twice..... eagles abolutely right to reject T.O. knose
kelprod1 that Raiders team would be a blast to watch though. syrdude
and that's why the raiders and the cowboys are the jokes of the NFL. beezer77
I'm a die hard Raiders fan, so I know how bad we are not that it was any secret or anything but if we do bring in T.O I cant begin to imagine whats going to happen, especially when Russel is not able to get the ball to him, because of are horrible offensive line. NOT GOOD, but as long as Al Davis is in charge will just keep on spending big money on useless players. pomona podiatrist Happyfeet11
remember when T.O. said in an interview, after being asked about us booing him, that he knew we would take him back in a heartbeat if given the chance. Well, here's our chance jerk, and we won't touch you with a 100 ft. pole. potsy102

Any chance the Eagles pick up Roy Williams? Coverage liability but big hitter.... Bobphxville
I'd take him back. he still has a lot of talent that we need and he certainly understands what the Eagles will or will not put up with. I he was brought onboard he would certainly know and understand what part of his act the Eagles will put up with and what the consequences are if he oversteps the line. Doubtful
As I said earlier to a few friends of mine, what have they done WITHOUT TO and what have they done WITH TO? This entire franchise is so disenchanting anymore. Why not stir the pot and make it fun again. Bring him back. jayfril
Funny you should mention the 49ers v. Packers game from 1999 that was televised last nite. I only saw the last minute of the game replayed but it involved TO's game winning catch with 3 seconds on the clock. I told my wife that watching the interview he gave after that game, vis-a-vis the way he has lived his life since, is a portrait of contrasts; humility v. hubris. In that tearful interview, he gave all due credit to the Lord, gave due credit to his teammates and above all--Jesus, by name, in a very humble tone. Compare that to the self-centered, obnoxious rants and raves that have made him unloved everywhere he has played since. Somewhere T.O. lost his way. It's a tragedy. He is the personification of the warning found in Proverbs: "Pride goes before the fall." ArizonaMike
Put all the nuts and excons on our team. All I want is a super bowl to shut up these Giants fans up here where I live. Win a Super bowl and go in the tank for 5 years. Fine with me. cm3737
T.O. sucks pole. gulls3012
what do they say about people who assume? JACK V
Yeah, what interest would the Eagles have in a premiere wide receiver who took us to the superbowl last time he played for the Eagles. We were a fratured leg (Owens) & some Super-Porcelain-Bowl hugging (McNabb) of winning the Superbowl. Why would we want some of THAT again?? drjimmy
T.O. back in teal...If we win it all, we're genious; if we don't, Fat Man finally gets sacked for yet another ringless year. A win-win, and some edge-of-your-seat entertainment T.O.-style to boot. Who can ask for anything more? anbasha
i cant believe people actually want OD back...thats sad PhillyFan693
You guys are insane for wanting T.O. back. He is a destroyer of teams. DE_Gene
I think we need T.O. to win the Super Bowl. phiilyboy11
