Phils, Lidge agree to 3-year extension

The Phillies have announced a three-year contract extension for closer Brad Lidge worth $37.5 million.

The Phillies acquired Lidge from the Houston Astros in an offseason trade.

Lidge, 31, has 19 saves and is 2-0 with a 0.77 ERA in 35 games this season.
