A month ago, Gov. Rendell told the Daily News what he wanted the Obama campaign to do locally:

"I've told Chicago I want [Obama] here on a Saturday, from 10 till 4:30, and I want to go to six locations," Rendell said in September. "And I want to have flatbed trucks in each location. I want the streets to be closed, and I want five to 10 thousand people in each location, and I want them not in Center City, but in the neighborhoods where people live.

Looks like he got his wish. The Obama campaign announced yesterday that the Democratic presidential candidate will do four neighborhood rallies around the city on Saturday.

Here's the release:

SATURDAY: Obama Holding Four Neighborhood Rallies in Philadelphia

Multiple-stop visit within the city will energize supporters and generate volunteers

PHILADELPHIA — Sen. Barack Obama will barnstorm the city of Philadelphia on Saturday, making four stops within the city. At each stop, Sen. Obama will discuss his plans to strengthen our economy, lower taxes on Pennsylvania’s middle class families and give tax breaks to companies that create jobs in the United States. The trip comes just days after Pennsylvania’s voter registration deadline, completing a three-month effort by Obama-Biden organizers that saw the gap between registered Democrats and Republicans grow to nearly 1.2 million. The campaign now turns its attention to generating volunteers for what will be an unprecedented Get-Out-The-Vote effort.

I'd just like to offer this again. Anyone that concerned about health care should look at the following link. Maybe some could ask why someone should pick the vauge plan that Obama suggests over a plan that is already avialable. Tango, I specifically think you should look at this since you had mentioned health care in previous posts. http://www.ibx.com/health_plans/searchPlanResults.html

Before you dismiss Sarah Palin as incompetent, maybe you should be informed about things like her being the Commander of the Alaska National Guard. Alaska is the first line of defense in our missile interceptor defense system. The 49th Missile Defense Battalion of the Alaska National Guard is the unit that protects the entire nation from ballistic missile attacks. It's on permanent active duty, unlike other Guard units. As governor of Alaska, Palin is briefed on highly classified military issues, homeland security, and counterterrorism. Her exposure to classified material may rival even Biden's and certainly by far exceeds Obama’s. She’s also the commander in chief of the Alaska State Defense Force (ASDF), a federally recognized militia incorporated into Homeland Security’s counterterrorism plans. Palin is privy to military and intelligence secrets that are vital to the entire country's defense. Given Alaska’s proximity to Russia, she may have security clearances we don't even know about. This is a woman used to keeping secrets. She can be entrusted with our national security, because she already is. From a former Philly dude, now an Alaskan just thought you might be interested. Obviously nothing CNNMSNBC is going to tell you.

I'm taking bets on which location appears in the news. Mayfair Dinner area, anyone? Hey flod, you are really passionate about your hatred of Sarah Palin, why? Are you just as passionate in your support of Obama? Have you visited his website? Have you looked into his plans? Do you support the Employee Free Choice Act? Do you understand his tax plan? Do you support his website having a link to report rumors about him? Do you believe in the redistribution of wealth? If you haven't been to Obama's website, then I suggest you visit it. Word of caution if you do not want to volunteer, look very closely in the right corner (its shaded so the lazy will be forced to login) for the link to by-pass the login.

I support Obama and I don't understand why Palin dropping the puck at the Flyers game is causing suck an uproar. How long will she stand there for 2 minutes? If you don't like her being there and you are ACTUALLY going to the game then Boo her

I would suggest it's you who didn't read the post. She posits that Palin is there solely to "convince white hockey fans " to vote against a black man.Why introduce race ? Snider's intentions are clear but their not racially motivated.

Yankee - because you're suggesting that's she's racist for supporting an African American candidate...actually, to be honest, I don't understand your initial comment...Did you read what she said??

Pooh we really don't want the "samrt" people of the Northeast to show up. Just the people who don't want the next 4 years to be like the last 8 years.

Hey Pooh, actually it will be ALL the smart people of the Northeast who will be at the Mayfair. It is those of us with the intelligence to see through the Double Talk Express for the sham that it is and support someone who has the temperament to be a true leader, not some warmongering fossil from the 20th century.

flod-You're such a racist.I guess the only reason you follow hockey is because most of the players are white.

Hopefully the samrt people of the northeast will not show up at the Mayfair diner.

I think it is great - couldnt come at a better time - when the goon squad for McCain is coming in town at the request of Ed Snider - now I honestly think that this is an insult to the philly fans - I hope that we show the appropriate response and give Sarah sixpack a royal philly salute - she is a vicious foul mouthed talking head and McCain is sending her to do his dirty workk for him. Let's show her that real Philadelphians don't take easy to mixing politics with sports - Snider you are dead wrong about this - keep your politics to yourself - dont impose them on us - we do have brains and can think for ourselves - maybe you were standing too close when a puck went flying by - and maybe you think this will influence white hockey fans to vote against a black man - but it isn't going to work this time - I am a senior citizen hockey loving grandmother who does not like bullsh_t when I see it and the republicans have a truckload this time - they were getting the pants beat off of them on the economy so they have to resort to slurs and fear - not gonna work this time - just 4 more months is about all we have to put up with the last 8 years and for the 4 more that John McShame is asking for- not gonna happen this time. I hope the silence is deafening on saturday for ms abuse of Power - sarah cheyney palin!
