Medical condition upgraded for suspect in cop killing

Inquirer staff writer Dwight Ott reports: The medical condition of Rasheed Scrugs, the alleged killer of a 25-year-old Philadelphia police officer Friday night, was upgraded from critical to fair condition today, according to a spokesperson for Albert Einstein Hospital. Scrugs, 33, of West Philadelphia was wounded by police shortly after he allegedly shot Officer John Pawlowski, who became the eighth Philadelphia officer to be killed in less than three years. The medical condition of Rasheed Scrugs, the alleged killer of a 25-year-old Philadelphia police officer Friday night, was upgraded from critical to fair condition today, according to a spokesperson for Albert Einstein Hospital.
