Lori Delgado resigns from NBC10

POSTED: Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 2:21 PM

Which local TV newsroom soap opera has more drama?
NBC10 with Delgado and DeMentri
CBS3 with Lane and Mendte
Neither. I'm sick of the drama.

This post has been updated (5:45 p.m.):

NBC10 has confirmed the resignation of anchor Lori Delgado, who's been at the center of a bizarre series of events at the station this summer involving former anchor Vince DeMentri.

Delgado, a New Yorker whose husband is a New York lawyer, joined the station in January 2005.

Delgado, who turned 29 two weeks ago, was on a previously scheduled week of vacation last week.

NBC had been investigating alleged incidents at the station. In one, Delgado's personal property (a hair dryer, curling iron and handbag) was moved from her desk drawer to another spot under her desk. In another, a deep scratch was found on her Lexus, parked in the NBC10 lot in Bala Cynwyd. DeMentri, 44, had been questioned by NBC management. He was fired in August.

On Sept. 16, NBC10, Delgado and an NBC security official identified as Don were named in a praecipe filed by DeMentri attorney Paul Rosen in Philadelphia Common Pleas Court -- basically, a precursor to a lawsuit. The praecipe simply listed "libel, slander and misrepresentation" under the cause. No allegations were listed.

The station's news director, Chris Blackman, today issued this memo: "I wanted to let you let you know that Lori Delgado has resigned from NBC10 to spend more time with her family. We thank Lori for her contributions to the station and wish her well."

Maybe if they hired someone less attractive and more inteeligent we would not have these problems.

I am all for a Latinaon Philly TV but I never thought she was that good and you could tell she was a New Yorker who didn't embrace the market. She once interviewed Boyz II Men and seemed like she didn't even know who they were. Come on. Met at HS for the Performing Arts? Internationally reknown? Motown Philly's back again? Weak.

I'm relieved that you had enough hit-points to survive that melee. Stay tuned for my press conference, when I will relay an equivocal yet sincere apology to dorks everywhere as written by my lawyer.

Metropolitan, Huh? Well since you and nowaynohownobama opened that can, allow me to chime in with a "male" point of view... What Philly really needs is more Hot News Women with nice cleavage who love to show it and "make love to the camera". Metropolitan, your views are "as fresh as a Foghat concert". Get over this race crap. No one else say anything but fun in this story.

Does anyone actually watch the local "news"? If so, why?

I miss Vince Dementri. He reminded me of the count from sesame street. I wonder what he's doing nowadays. Maybe counting his money. 1... muahahaha....2 muahahahah.

I think if the gentlemen involved in these two incidents would keep their "fly's" up and the females would restrict their flirting to their husbands or significant others and JUST DO THEIR JOBS, we would all be better served than all this unending, silly, sophomoric nonsense.
