Union lose game and maybe Le Toux

Join my Philly.com colleague Matt Mullin for live coverage of the Union's U.S. Open Cup match at Red Bull Arena tonight. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:00 p.m., and Matt will be at the game providing commentary.

Two goals by Red Bulls striker Conor Chinn proved too much for the Union to overcome, as New York held on for a 2-1 win in a U.S. Open Cup qualifying match at Red Bull Arena.

Sebastien Le Toux scored the Union's lone goal in the 68th minute. Philadelphia had quite a few chances to equalize, most notably a close-range shot from Alejandro Moreno in stoppage time that went just wide of the net.

But the headline from this match is the injury suffered by Le Toux in the 82nd minute. Le Toux was carted off the field, and the Union played with 10 men for the rest of the match.

The Union posted on its official Twitter feed that the "[e]arly word on Le Toux's injury is an MCL sprain. Still awaiting confirmation."

My Philly.com colleague Matt Mullin was at Red Bull Arena, and you can read his commentary from the game below. Come back later tonight for his report on the match.
