The Fox 29 News Vs. W. Wilson Goode Jr. mess appears to have turned physical today. Here is video from the Fox 29 News web site of reporter Claudia Gomez chasing Goode after his comments in Council today. A man wearing a fedora -- no, really -- appears to step in her way several times. Gomez complains to Goode, who does not intervene. Several times, including once in a doorway, the man in the hat clearly blocks Gomez from approaching Goode.
Then we get this exchange:
Gomez to man in hat: "You just slapped me!"
Man in hat: "No I didn't. I put my hand up and you ran into it."

It is really ashame that news reporter Claudia Gomez has to file criminal complaint for being man handled by a thug like that I saw the tape this guy just keep on shoving her out of Mr. Goodes way and then he had the nerve to slap her this really bothered me a lot. Claudia Gomez was only doing her job and earning her paycheck honestly unlike Latrice Bryant who is stealling time, Well Claudia the man the hit you his name is Jeffrey Weaver and you should really check out this websit about him. Also Goode needs to be kicked out of city hall, we don't need any more scandles you know this makes me wonder if this Weaver thug guy is related to Delores Weaver who is now in jail for the scandle with Shamsuddin Ali and his wife Faridah Ali who was suspected of being involved in a scandle at Community college of Phila concerning no teachers whose classes were to be held at Sister Clara Muhammad that story also came out came out of city hall about four years ago about.

This has been going on for years in City Hall. Goode's not the only one. Patronage jobs and nepotism. Personally picked by an official. That's why the Phila Civil Service was necessary. Otherwise you would never get a city job. Its the same thing with the Phila Gas Works. Who turned him in? As a public figure Councilman Goode should know that someone is always watching. He's got himself to blame. Not smart!

It's kind of sad that the people of Philadelphia cannot exchange thoughts on a subject without taking cheap shots, like for example referring to this man a "Huggy Bear". What does that have to do with anything. The fact that Wilson Goode, Jr, choose to let this happen is the real issue that should be debated and discussed. He could have controlled the situation by just stopping to talk in a friendly and professional manner, instead he chose to run and hide. Had he said to the Fox reporter that he did not want to discuss the issue regarding his staffer he could have been done with it. Instead he stoked the fire giving the city and himself a black eye. What a shame. If the guy with the hat actually hit her (Claudia), Goode as an elected official should hang the guy out to dry and distance himself from this person and offer an apology to Claudia.

After watching the video again, I have to question the hiring practices of the Councilman, and if this is not a paid employee, question the company Willie keeps. "Huggy Bear" is very well versed in ebonics, and in using such, also speaks to the intelligence of his boss/friend. Bryant should be canned, and forbidden to work in a municipal capacity ever again, Goode needs to step down or be removed, and his homie should be arrested for his handling of the reporter, butchering of the English language, and his choice in attire while protecting a public servant.

The people of Philadelphia have a right to know where their tax money is going, and to find THIS out is the ultimate slap in their collective faces. I think I'm gonna have to agree with 2cents on this one. The reporter was obviously trying to do her job, while the muscle was trying to do his. He tried repeatedly to step between the two of them, but she kept trying to make the cut. There was bound to be physical contact and anything said by the politico would have been used against him, especially since he obviously didn't want to talk in the first place. Therefore, you can probably make a fair assumption that he would have been asking her to leave him alone. That said, he is still dead wrong for sexing his girlfriend on the clock. Come on at some point people need to back off. Being a reporter does not give you right to keep trying to run someone down when it is clear they don't want to talk to you. Ms. Gomez made it worst because the man clearly was trying to block her from getting to Goode. Instead of backing off, she persisted, caused a confrontation, and then cried fowl because she was touched. At some point I think the news people need learn how to not act like the tabloid journalist.
