Fox 29 News reporter Claudia Gomez accused this unidentified man of slapping her when she attempted to interview Councilman W. Wilson Goode Jr. [Photo: Fox 29 News]

The Fox 29 News Vs. W. Wilson Goode Jr. mess appears to have turned physical today.  Here is video from the Fox 29 News web site of reporter Claudia Gomez chasing Goode after his comments in Council today.  A man wearing a fedora -- no, really -- appears to step in her way several times.  Gomez complains to Goode, who does not intervene.  Several times, including once in a doorway, the man in the hat clearly blocks Gomez from approaching Goode.

Then we get this exchange:

Gomez to man in hat:  "You just slapped me!"

Man in hat: "No I didn't. I put my hand up and you ran into it."

Despicable conduct by Goode and his bad-hat-wearing muscle. We should be ashamed to have elected him.

A week or so ago Goode threatened a reporter about disrespecting a black woman. Here he is doing the same, even worse to a Hispanic woman. What a thug! Nothing will be done. He played the race card so now all media sources will back off.

Why is Goode throwing away his career for a staffer?

I'm glad to see that Huggy Bear is working again. Someone needs to get in Councilman Bomber Jr's face and wag a finger and say "Don't ever disrespect a Hispanic woman like that again!" It makes you long for the days of Rick Mariano-the only thing he was hustling was cookies. This guy's getting his jollies on our dime. I bet the beer goes on his expense account. Diversity in the media - please! The city government needs more diversity and a few less Goodes. One bombed neighborhood is enough.

If this doesn't expose the cronyism that is the Democrat Machine in Philadelphia, nothing will. From Fumo all the way down to this two-bit councilman, there is evidence of decay. This is another of the many reasons why we need LESS government. Do you think any private business could survive if an "aide" was paid $90G a year to be arrogant and accusatory to the media and then pulls the race card when the legitimacy of her job is questioned? Just exactly WHAT DOES SHE DO FOR THAT MONEY? OF course, it is racist of me to ask, right? None of the antics that routinely go on in city government support efficiency. Nothing that is government-run can ever hope to turn a profit, and bedbugs like Goode and Ms. Leatrice are perfect proof why.

Nutter is also playing politics and the race card. THIS is exactly why so many have either moved from Philly, or refuse to visit it. I could be wrong here, but, if a wht man in a bad hat dd to a blk woman what this guy did, they'd refer to the KKK. OOOPS, they already did, even though KKK was responsible for far less deaths than blk inner city gangs.

Come on at some point people need to back off. Being a reporter does not give you right to keep trying to run someone down when it is clear they don't want to talk to you. Ms. Gomez made it worst because the man clearly was trying to block her from getting to Goode. Instead of backing off, she persisted, caused a confrontation, and then cried fowl because she was touched. At some point I think the news people need learn how to not act like the tabloid journalist.
