Car riddled with bullets in S. Philly, driver in critical condition

A man who was driving a silver Nissan Maxima in South Philadelphia Friday night was hospitalized in critical condition after another driver fired shots through his window, police said.

After being shot at, the driver of the Maxima crashed his car into a house on 16th Street near Annin Street around 10:50 p.m. and was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.  Annin is about two blocks south of Washington Avenue.

The driver's side window of the car was riddled with about 14 bullet holes, and police at the scene said they knew of no witnesses, nor did they have any suspect in custody.
