Body found in burning car in Southwest Philadelphia


Homicide detectives are investigating the discovery of a man's body inside a burning car in West Philadelphia overnight.

Police say they were called at 3:47 a.m. today to the 1900 block of S. 55th Street.  There, they found a Nissan Maxima on fire with city firefighters responding. 

The body was found after the flames were doused. Sources told 6ABC that the man was bound with duct tape and had a bag over his head.

There was no word this morning on the identity of the victim.
