Blackhawks' Burish blasts Pronger
Standing on the Wachovia Center ice with his teammates hoisting the Stanley Cup in the background, Blackhawks forward Adam Burish couldn’t hold back any longer.
Nevermind that he didn’t actually play in the Stanley Cup clinching Game 6, having been a healthy scratch for the last three games because he was invisible in the first three. He just put on his equipment and skated around the ice like he did.
In an interview with NBC, Burish couldn’t pass up the opportunity to needle Chris Pronger on live television.
“I think Chris Pronger’s the biggest idiot in the league,” Burish said. “I can’t stand him one bit. I hope I never have to see him again. If I see him out there, I might punch him.”
Did Burish see the poorly done Chicago Tribune poster that depicted Pronger in a skirt, calling him ‘Chrissy Pronger’?
“No, but that’s perfect,” Burish said. “He should have worn that out here [on the ice]. He was terrible.”
Classy winner, right?
Those are some big words for a forward who has never posted more than nine points in an NHL season or positively contributed to a winning team. Pronger’s resume includes three Stanley Cup Finals with three different teams, a Hart Trophy, a Norris Trophy and a Stanley Cup ring.
Our advice to Burish when these two teams meet next season: keep your head up. That is, if he’s playing.

- Burish got a lot of hype in college despite average point totals ... I saw him play for Wisconsin a couple of times his senior year. It obviously doesn't always translate to the NHL. - socaldude, I'm a Flyers fan who lives in Chicago. I gotta tell you, the current Hawks fandamonium is as fair weather as it gets. As recently as 4 years ago, Opposing fans regularly outnumbered Hawks fans at the UC. You could walk up to the so called "Madhouse on Madison" (what a BS title) at 7pm on game night and get good seats for $30 a pop and the place was DEAD!! This has never been the case in Philly even in the worst years. Though I'm disappointed that the Flyers lost I am happy for the True Hawks faithful (3 - 4000 or so) who stuck out 2 decades of aweful hockey to finally be rewarded last night. I garuntee you that I've been to more Hawks games in the last 10 years (because I love hockey) than the vast majority of the sell out crowds of the last 2 years who mysteriously crawled out of the woodwork when Rocky took over the team. You can say Chicago has it over Philly in a lot of aspects but there is no question who has the more faithful true hockey fans. In that aspect Chicago cannot touch Philly and most Real Chicago Hockey fans (the ones who suffered with me through Michael Leightons debut performance so many years ago) will tell you I'm correct.— holy

I am just stating that pretty much anyone outside of Philly that watched the Cup would agree that Chicago had the energy, fans, momentum, enthusiasm, and skill way beyond Philly's. Theres a time and place for talking smack. Right after watching your team mates win the Cup and pretending to being a part of the effort isn't the time. - Kane2010, the Chicago papers are still writing up their mindless drivel they have been writing all series. Your media was exposed for the sensationalism driven business that is, and were rightly vilified by the national media for some of childish stunts they pulled...and yeah, the better team won. But by no stretch was it a matter of being out-hustled or outclassed. It was just a matter of talent. And trust me, wait until some of this young talent starts seeking new contract deals. They'll be out of Chicago faster than you can say "another 50 years."
