Germantown shopkeeper killed in daylight attack

Police are investigating a fatal shooting at a Germantown convenience store this afternoon.

The body of a young man was discovered before noon by a customer of Rahman Body Oils, Beads and Variety Store, 5711 Germantown Avenue, officials said.

The victim was bound at the feet and hands and had been shot in the back of the head.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at noon.

Family and neighbors gathered outside the store identified the victim as Fakhur Uddin, 19, the shop owner's son.

Uddin, who was born in Bangladesh, was described by the crowd as a nice kid.

He was the oldest of four children and lived with his family in North Philadelphia.

Police do no have a motive and no arrests have been made.
