Eagles tix: Exercise in frustration

At 10 this morning, single-game seats for Philadelphia Eagles games went on sale.

At 10:40, the Eagles confirmed: Sorry, fans, all the regular season games are gone.

Except for standing-room tickets to be sold at a date to be named later.

Judging from our own attempts this morning, untold fans were very frustrated.

Starting at 9:57, calls to Ticketmaster numbers in New Mexico, Kentucky, New York and Kansas were met with only busy signals.

Online we got a little luckier - though the first four attempts yielded only this maddening message: "We could not process your ticket request."

Shot down for 4 tickets, we tried for 2 - at 10:05.

We were told the wait would take 5 minutes.

Things were not looking good, sports fans, since supposedly, the regular-season is gobbled up in about 10 minutes.

Again: "We could not process your ticket request."

Happened for both the Steelers and Cardinals game.

Even the stinkin' Cardinals game - Thanksgiving night.

It's 10:10, time to think about abandoning ship.

Ah, what the heck. Try for 1 ticket.

Got it ... at 10:15!

Now if only we can get 1 more ...

Wait, success! At 10:22.

$77.70 each, including service charges.

Same time, on another screen, the other pending request, for 1 Steelers ticket, got denied.

One last hope: Perhaps these tickets are near each other?

Nope. One nose-bleeder's in the end zone (section 213), the other's at midfield (203).

Now I have to figure out what to do with these turkeys.
