Times conveniently forgets all the other times Philly beat New York

The flubbed headline spelling of Philadelphia wasn’t the biggest mistake the [ITALIC]New York Times[/ITALIC] made.

Hey, New York: Remember DeSean Jackson’s game-winning punt return against the Giants back in 2010? We do.

THE NEW YORK TIMES headline was originally: "With Convention, Phildelphia Scores Rare Win Over New York." But the misspelling of our city was not the greatest error.

Rare? Really?

April 1947: The Philadelphia Warriors win the first NBA championship. Along the way, they defeat the Knicks in the semifinals. Overall, Philly has beaten the Knicks in four out of five playoff series.

Nov. 20, 1960: The Eagles' Chuck Bednarik knocks out the Giants' Frank Gifford with what he remembers as the hardest hit he has ever delivered on a football field. Gifford, who says it was a clean hit, doesn't play again for 18 months.

March 2, 1962: Wilt Chamberlain scores an NBA record 100 points against the Knicks in a game played at Hershey, Pa.

May 5, 1974: The Flyers and Rangers have faced one another 11 times in the playoffs, with the Flyers winning six, but only once as late as the semifinals. In that one, the Flyers won Game 7 at the Spectrum on a day memorable not only for the outcome but for a fight that saw his teammates stand around and watch as Rangers defenseman Dale Rolfe was beaten up by the Flyers' Dave Schultz.

Nov. 19, 1978: In the Miracle at the Meadowlands, the Giants should have been kneeling out a win over the Eagles. Instead, running back Larry Csonka fumbles a botched handoff and Herman Edwards scoops up the ball and runs 26 yards for the winning touchdown.

Sept. 30, 2007: On the final day of the season, the Mets lose, 8-1, to the Marlins while the Phillies win, 6-1, over the Nationals. As a result, the Phillies win the National League East and the Mets' historic collapse is complete. Never before and never since has a major league team held a seven-game lead in the standings as late as Sept. 12 and failed to make the playoffs.

Dec. 19, 2010: At the new Meadowlands, there is a new miracle. The Giants blow a 31-10 lead with 8:17 left in the fourth quarter, topped off by the only walk-off punt return for a touchdown in NFL history, a 65-yarder by DeSean Jackson. In 2013, readers at NFL.com vote it the greatest play in NFL history. Giants coach Tom Coughlin is still reportedly yelling at Matt Dodge for not punting the ball out of bounds.

January 2015: Conde Nast Traveler names Philadelphia as the No. 2 shopping city in the world. New York is ranked No. 24.

January 2015: The New York Times says Philadelphia is No. 3 on its list of "52 Places to Go in 2015." Lower Manhattan in New York City is No. 16.

Feb. 12, 2015: The Democrats pick Philadelphia to host their 2016 convention. It will be the 10th national political convention in Philadelphia. New York has had six.
