Officials: Boy, 7, fatally shot at Pa. gun store
MERCER, Pa. - Authorities say a 7-year-old boy has been fatally shot at a western Pennsylvania gun store.
It happened around 11 a.m. Saturday outside Twigs Reloading Den in East Lackawanna Township, about 60 miles north of Pittsburgh. One of the store's owners, Leonard Mohney, says it happened in the parking lot.
But Mohney says he didn't see anything and didn't know what happened.
A trooper at the Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Mercer said he didn't immediately have information on the investigation. The name of the victim has not been released.
Nicole Howard, whose family owns a meatpacking company next door, told the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review that there was a single gunshot and then police arrived quickly afterward.
