Toomey headlines 1st day of conservatives' event

CAMP HILL, Pa. - U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey will be headlining Pennsylvania's largest annual gathering of conservatives at a suburban Harrisburg hotel.

The Friday start of the Pennsylvania Leadership Conference will also feature Lt. Gov. Jim Cawley and South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, who is speaking on behalf of presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

Toomey hasn't endorsed a candidate in the Republican presidential nominating race, but the freshman senator is considered by some to be a potential vice presidential pick by GOP front-runner Romney.

On Saturday, presidential candidates Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich also will speak.
