Broad Street Billy: Gee Whiz! Use your Manuel dexterity & nickname this team

I'M BROAD STREET BILLY - hyped up, psyched up, revved up for Red October - and now I need your help.

I'M BROAD STREET BILLY - hyped up, psyched up, revved up for Red October - and now I need your help.

I want you to get the 2010 playoffs-to-parade mojo going by sending your stories and photos of Fightin' Phils family histories, kids, man/woman caves and beloved pets -

Choochuahuas! Docshunds! Rhodesian Lidgebacks! Rauladoodles! Great Shanes! - to me at:

phillies@phillynews.com

GOT NICKNAME? B-Street Billy is shocked that we are probably looking at the greatest Phillies team of all time - and they have no nickname!

No "Gas House Gang."

No "Big Red Machine."

What's up with that?

They've got more sizzle than the "Whiz Kids" of 1950, more high cheese than the "Wheeze Kids" of 1983, more swagger than the "Macho Row" rowdies of 1993 - but no nickname!

B-Street Billy is calling on all diehards to come to the rescue.

Daily News sportswriter Ed Barkowitz got us started yesterday by coming up with a great one: "Charlie's Horses" - which honors our great manager and the stud Phillies who overcame this Season of Pulled Muscles to win the division and ensure that we'll all be Home for the Halladay!

Now it's your turn.

Send me your nicknames for your 2010 Phillies!

PHILS ALWAYS CHAMPS: Elaine Vallejo, of Juniata Park, took her son, Ethan, 5, to his first Phillies game last month.

Like every other very young Phillies fan, Ethan loves every Fightin's season because, come September, he gets a cool, new division-champs T-shirt.

Like the rest of us, Ethan's mom, who grew up rooting for the Phillies in the '70s, knows how rare this moment in team history is, and knows that Our Time Is Now.

In 2008, she carried Ethan, then 3, "through the crowd of 2 million fans so he could experience his first World Series parade," she said. "He still remembers! He wants another one!"

So does Billy, Elaine!

"Hopefully," she said, "my son will get to meet the Phanatic one day because this is his dream!"
