Rewards have been offered for the drivers responsible for two hit-and-runs this weekend that left a toddler dead and two boys in the hospital.

About 7:30 p.m. Sunday on Herbert Street near Large in Frankford, two boys, 11 and 13, were riding on the same bicycle when they were hit by the driver of a black Dodge Charger who fled the scene, police said.

Both boys were listed in stable condition at St. Christopher's Hospital for Children yesterday, according to police.

Derrick Martinez, 2, was not so lucky. His life was taken by the driver of a silver Mercedes-Benz at 8:30 p.m. Saturday as he and his mother crossed Washington Avenue near 6th Street in South Philadelphia. His mother survived the crash.

The Citizens Crime Commission is offering $2,500 rewards in both cases for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible. Call 215-546-TIPS.
