A 51-year-old North Philadelphia man was charged yesterday with murdering a middle-aged laundromat owner and another man earlier this month.

A police source said Siegfried Moore fatally stabbed Huan Mo, 53, on Aug. 11 inside her Logan laundromat at 15th Street and Wyoming Avenue.

Investigators previously described the crime scene as a gruesome mess: The laundromat was smeared with Mo's blood, and coins and bloody footprints surrounded her body.

The source said Moore, of 15th Street near Belfield Avenue, robbed Mo of $100 to $200 before killing her.

DNA evidence also linked Moore to the Aug. 4 murder of Devaughn Smith, 19, the police source said. Moore stabbed Smith to death on Camac Street near Louden, the source noted, although the motive was unclear last night.

Moore was apparently hospitalized after he suffered some injuries during his fatal encounter with Smith, the source said. More information about both cases are expected to be released today.
