Cops: He used Craigslist to recruit pervs

NEWBERG, Ore. - A 44-year-old man was accused of rape, sodomy and other sex-related crimes, including posting Craigslist ads to solicit others to join in group sex with a 14-year-old girl, authorities said yesterday.

Darrin Daily, of Newberg, and four other people have been arrested, including three men and a woman who allegedly had sex with the teenager.

Authorities learned about the alleged crimes on Sept. 4 when a 15-year-old girl told police that Daily had given her marijuana and alcohol and had sex with her. He was arrested a week later.

Another girl, 14, later told police that she visited Daily every other weekend from February to this past Labor Day weekend and they usually had sex, according to court documents released yesterday. She said that Daily once tied her up in what she and Daily called "raping her," although she was consenting to it.

Under Oregon law, a person under 16 is not old enough to consent to sex with someone older than 18.

She also said that Daily posted ads on Craigslist seeking men "interested in engaging in group sex with her," according to the documents, and that she had sex with men and a woman at Daily's home. The 14-year-old also said that Daily took pictures of her having sex with his dog.

The 15-year-old told police that she had met Daily at a swimming pool, and that Daily's daughter, who was with him, asked her to visit, according to court documents. When she visited she smoked marijuana with him and he provided alcohol, according to the documents. She said that Daily "got too high," took her to a bedroom and they had sex.

Officials also found images of a 4-year-old girl being sexually abused. Detectives learned the identity of that girl, who told them she had been sexually abused by Daily, according to police.

Daily is being held on $1 million bail in the Yamhill County Jail.

Authorities said that the three men accused of responding to the Craigslist ad and taking part in the sex abuse also were jailed in Yamhill County.

Police also arrested Alisa Nice, 31, of McMinnville, who is alleged to have been engaged in group sex with the 14-year-old. She was charged yesterday with two counts of sexual abuse, sodomy and using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct. She was held on $160,000 bail.
