Man sought in fatal shooting over cell phone

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a Philadelphia man charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a Chester man after an argument over a cell phone.

Chester police are looking for Brandon D. Staley, 26, of the 5900 block of Chester Avenue, Philadelphia. On Friday, police said, Staley shot and killed Michael "Sexy Chocolate" Jackson, 29, of the 900 block of Lincoln Street in Chester.

A unidentified witness told police that Jackson had a cell phone belonging to his girlfriend. When the witness, Staley and another unidentified witness went to the New Chester Deli on Ninth Street to get the phone, an argument began. Staley "pulled out his gun and went crazy shooting Jackson at least six times," according to an affidavit.

Stanley also is wanted by Philadelphia police in connection with a separate shooting, Chester Police Capt. Joseph Massi said.

Police ask that anyone with information regarding Stanley call Det. Nelson Collins at 610-447-8431 or the Chester City Anonymous Tip Line at 610-447-7810. - Mari A. Schaefer
