Two found dead in apparent murder-suicide

A 25-year-old man and his 24-year-old wife died last night - each had been shot in the head - in what police said was a murder-suicide in their Hunting Park home.

Officers responding to a 7:46 p.m. call to the couple's home in the 4000 block of Fairhill Street found the bodies in a second-floor front bedroom, police said.

Police said they believed the man shot himself and his wife. Their names were not released.

The shootings happened while five children were inside the home, police said. The bodies were discovered by the couple's 6-year-old child. That child and others, ages 3, 2, and 1-year-old twins, were being cared for by the city's Department of Human Services last night. Police said the children did not have any apparent injuries.
