Give us this week our daily thunderstorms

Counting today, thunderstorms are in the forecast six of the next seven days in the Philadelphia area.

The odds, however, are 50-50 or lower in each case.

Only Wednesday has no warnings.

The pattern is for highs in the highs 80s, with showers or thunderstorms most likely later in the day, usually in the evening.

The same outlook applies for the Jersey Shore, though the highs there will be in the high 70s and low 80s.

Today, lightning, heavy rain, strong gusts and even hail are all possible - but there's only a 50 percent chance of rain, even this afternoon and tonight.

The odds are lower the rest of the week: 40 percent for tomorrow and Sunday, 30 percent for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

No Phillies games will be threatened, since the team is on the road this week.

Say what you will about Chuckie Peruto's peculiar legal tactics, this one worked. After filing a $1 million civil lawsuit charging that New Jersey "got the wrong guy" in Operation Highroller, a $60 million illegal-gambling ring at the Borgata Casino in Atlantic City, attorney A. Charles "Chuckie" Peruto Jr. received an e-mail response yesterday.
