Two killed, several wounded in city shootings today

Two men were killed and a third was gravely wounded in three separate shootings early today in Philadelphia.

University of Pennsylvania Police found Nathaniel Crawford, 26, at about 1:12 a.m. lying on the south side sidewalk of 3900 block of Market Street with multiple gun shot wounds to the abdomen and back. Crawford, of the 2200 block of Fitzwater Street, was transported to the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania and pronounced dead at 1:26 a.m.

Penn police chased and stopped a blue Chevrolet Impala several blocks from the shooting, and three men were turned over to Philadelphia police for questioning, said Sgt. Tim Cooney of the homicide unit.

At about 1:45 a.m., police responded to the 3300 block of Germantown Avenue near Westmoreland Street and found Christoper Lomax, 27, of Norristown, lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to the chest, arms and legs. Police transported him to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 2:02 a.m.

Cooney said witnesses told police that the shooting stemmed from an argument inside a bar. Police radio reported a 5-foot-9 inch-tall black man wearing a blue and white shirt shot Lomax and fled on foot with another man.

Three people who police did not identify were wounded in an shooting at about 1 a.m. in the 1100 block of South 52nd Street in Kingsessing.

A 26-year-old man was shot in the head and was reported in grave condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, said Det. James Revell of the Southwest dectives. Another man was shot in the neck and shoulder reported in critical condition. A woman was shot in the knee and treated and released, he said.

No arrests were made, said Revell.
