Man arrested in Burlington Co. gas station murder

A Burlington County man was arrested and charged this morning with the murder of a gas station attendant in Westampton last month.

Authorities allege that Terrance S. Clemons, 20, of Burlington Township, shot Abdur Rahman during a late-night holdup at the U.S. Gas Station near the intersection of Rt. 541 and Burr Road. Rahman, 50, had been sending money home to his wife and eight children in Bangladesh.

The Burlington County Prosecutor's Office said Clemons murdered the attendant at approximately 11:22 on April 14, then fled and disposed of the gun.

Judge James Morley set bail on the murder warrant for $750,000. Clemons' first court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow at 3 p.m.

If rookie DeSean Jackson is able to keep his tiny body in one piece this summer - which is a big if for a 5-9 guy who weighs slightly more than Shawn Andrews' right leg - he'll provide an immediate boost to a return game that had trouble last season.

WASHINGTON - The House approved a sweeping plan yesterday to ease the most serious housing crisis since the Great Depression by providing aid to homeowners facing foreclosure and a federal backstop for the struggling mortgage giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.
It was always a matter of when, not if. The city's $62 million Motorola radio system had the kind of spectacular crash on Tuesday night that critics have warned about for years.
