Naked teen: 'I should shoot . . . you'

Talk about pulling the trigger prematurely. When three teens visited their 14-year-old cousin on Haverford Avenue near 59th Street in West Philadelphia Friday night, they found her in the middle of a tryst with a 17-year-old boy.

Talk about pulling the trigger prematurely.

When three teens visited their 14-year-old cousin on Haverford Avenue near 59th Street in West Philadelphia Friday night, they found her in the middle of a tryst with a 17-year-old boy.

Police said the potentially embarrassing encounter quickly escalated into a confrontation between the teen and his girlfriend's cousins - ages 13, 16 and 17.

The situation came to a head when the naked boy retrieved a handgun from his pants nearby.

"He waved it around and said, 'I should shoot all three of you,' " said Lt. John Walker, of Southwest Detectives.

But the false bravado didn't serve the teen well.

"He subsequently attempted to put the weapon back into his pocket, pulled the trigger and shot himself in the leg," Walker said.

The boy, whose name was not released, was treated at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, released and then charged with aggravated assault, weapons violations and recklessly endangering another person, Walker said.

The young girl and her cousins were not injured. *
