Police were seeking suspects in an overnight shooting in Point Breeze that left one man dead and two others injured.

Kyle Holmes, 27, of 22nd Street near Reed, was shot in the head, abdomen and leg at 12:30 a.m. yesterday on Wilder Street near 23rd, just a block from his home, said Lt. Mark Deegan of the homicide unit.

He was declared dead at 12:45 a.m. at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania.

Michael Gillette, 24, of Federal Street near 20th, was shot in the back and leg and remained in critical condition yesterday at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, police said.

Michael Cheely, 45, of Wilder Street near 23rd, was shot in the leg and remained in stable condition at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital yesterday.

Cheely had been cleaning his porch steps when gunfire erupted, Deegan said.

Investigators hadn't determined a motive or whether the victims were specifically targeted, Deegan said.

Holmes and Gillette both have long arrest records for drug offenses, court records show.

Meanwhile, Damien Holloway, 27, who was gunned down with a 15-year-old friend as the duo walked home from a 7-Eleven in Tacony last Friday, succumbed to his injuries Sunday afternoon, police said.

Investigators say they have some promising leads in that case.

Holmes' and Holloway's deaths boosted the murder count to 224 yesterday, police said. *
