1 ticket hits $207 million jackpot

The holder of a Mega Millions ticket purchased in Piqua, Ohio, is much, much richer.

The annuity value of last night's jackpot was $207 million. The lump-sum cash payout was worth about $140 million.

Before Uncle Sam takes his 25 percent.

The Mega Millions jackpot now starts all over at $12 million.

Tonight's Powerball jackpot of $40 million is now the biggest prize around. The multistate lottery is played in Pennsylvania, Delaware and 27 other states.

The winning Mega Millions numbers drawn last night were: 10, 16, 19, 27 and 48, with a Mega Ball of 25.

Two tickets sold in New Jersey were among 23 that came oh, so close. They won $200,000 each for having all the numbers except for the Mega Ball. Six were purchased in Texas; three in Georgia; two each in California, Massachusetts, Maryland,  Michigan and New York. Ohio and Virginia also had one apiece..

Mega Millions is played in a dozen states, but because they are among the nation's most populous, the lottery's jackpots rival Powerball's.

The last time Mega Millions had a jackpot as large as last night's was in February, when a Georgia man, playing a combination of his grandchildren's birthdays, hit a $275 million jackpot, and took the cash, about $167.7 million.

Before taxes, of course.
