Benjamin D. Evans of Village Circle in Blue Bell, pleaded guilty yesterday to unlawful communication with a minor and attempted involuntary deviant sexual intercourse, said Montgomery County Assistant District Attorney Todd Stephens.

The sentencing, part of a plea agreement that includes three years of probation after the jail term, will be postponed until Evans can be evaluated to determine whether he is a sexually violent predator under Megan's Law, Stephens said.

Evans met the 13-year-old girl when he was working at a private summer soccer camp, Stephens said.

The girl's parents contacted police in August after their daughter received sexually explicit text messages from Evans, who was running for the Wissahickon school board at the time.

He said the parents accepted a prison term that was six months below the sentencing guidelines to spare their daughter the ordeal of a trial.
