TV picks: 'Marvelous Mrs. Maisel,' the return of 'Vikings' and more

The Beatles: Eight Days a Week — The Touring Years. Ron Howard's documentary about the Fab Four from 1962-66  makes its U.S. broadcast debut. 8 p.m. Saturday, WHYY12.

Patti LaBelle's Place. The Grammy-winning Philadelphian cooks up a second season for celebrity friends, beginning this week with Cedric the Entertainer, who'll be treated to lamb chops with candied sweet potatoes. 11 a.m. Sunday, Cooking Channel.

Titanic: 20 Years Later with James Cameron. The Titanic director looks back at his most famous production in a one-hour documentary marking the film's 20th anniversary. 9 p.m. Sunday, National Geographic Channel. 

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Rachel Brosnahan (House of Cards, Manhattan) stars as Midge Maisel, a 1950s homemaker who half-stumbles into a career as a standup comedian — and is befriended by Lenny Bruce (Luke Kirby) — in a truly marvelous new comedy from Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino and fellow executive producer Daniel Palladino. Tony Shalhoub (Monk) plays Midge's father, Marin Hinkle (Two and a Half Men) her mother, and  Alex Borstein  (Family Guy) the aspiring agent who sees in Midge her own life-changing opportunity. Wednesday, Amazon.

Vikings. The historical drama that killed off a major character last season  opens its fifth season with "The Saga of Lagertha," so at least fans still have Katheryn Winnick's warrior queen. 8 p.m. Wednesday, History Channel.
