LOCAL
At Philadelphia International Airport on Tuesday, staff and passengers came to a halt for a memorial ceremony. And that evening, people of all faiths joined as one for an interfaith service that began at a Roman Catholic church and continued at a synagogue.

Those who helped in the rescue were also honored
NEW YORK — Victims’ families huddled under umbrellas Tuesday in a park to mark the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks — the first remembrance ceremony not held at ground zero. The gathering at Zuccotti Park, adjacent to the World Trade Center site, failed to evoke the same emotions as the spot where the Twin Towers had stood.
A MEMORIAL IN BUCKS COUNTY
At the Garden of Reflection in Yardley, Bucks County remembered its 18 victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack Tuesday with prayers, ringing of bells and recitation of the names of those who died.

THROUGH THEIR EYES
“What concerns me is that I think people are starting to forget how horrible 9/11 was."
MaryAnn Marrocolo remembers the disturbing quiet after the first tower collapsed. John O'Neill remembers the white dust coating everything. And Elsie Goss-Caldwell remembers the sickening smell of smoke the next day. An emergency manager. A firefighter. A mother. And at this time of year, the only thing worse than remembering the events of that cruel Tuesday six years ago - is forgetting them.
