DIY Sports Pennant Gallery: DIY Super Bowl decorations and ideas

With game day quickly approaching and so much cooking to do, putting together an eye-catching decorative display often gets overlooked. With these quick and easy DIY ideas and decorations you can buy tonight, your abode will look fully decked out for a party.

To DIY:

Sports Pennant

Supplies:

¼ yard felt for pennant base

Contrasting felt for wording and designs

Glue stick

White craft glue

Lettering

Directions:

1. Make the pennant base by cutting out a triangle of felt that measures 9”h x 22”w.

2. Print out your lettering template. Use a glue stick to lightly adhere the template to your contrasting felt with the right side of the paper facing the fabric.

3. Cut out letters, and peel off the paper. (Gluing the felt to the front of the paper allows you to cut out the letters in reverse. They can then be turned over and placed on the banner going the right direction, without any glue marks showing.)

4. Use the ruler to help you line up your letters on the pennant, then glue in place using craft glue and press down firmly.

4. Add designs as shown, or create your own decoration.

5. Using craft glue, attach a 3/4” wide strip of felt on the left hand side of your pennant, and ½” wide folded felt tassels as shown. Find more craft ideas from Parade.

Football Field Buffet Table

Supplies:

Measuring tape

Thin white tape

White number stickers

Chalk or pencil

Green tablecloth optional

Directions:

1. Use the tape measure to find the center of the table for the 50 yard line.

2. Divide each half by five for the measurement between the rest of the lines. (For example, for a table that is 60" long, the half yard mark goes at 30".

3. To find the spacing for the remaining yard lines divide 30/5 which equals 6". So the yard lines were drawn in at 6", 12", 18", 24", 30", 36", 42", 48", 54").

4. Mark down both lengths of the table and then stretch the tape from mark to mark, tucking the edges of the tape underneath the table.

5. Add the numbers, a few inches from the tables edge, starting at 50 in the middle and counting down to 40-30-20-10 on both sides. Find more project ideas from Holidash.
