5 PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN

1 Women have significantly less upper body strength than men. Conservative estimates state about a 40 percent difference.

2 Women are especially prone to stress fractures when carrying heavy loads.

3 Men have a higher base metabolic rate and therefore burn more calories at rest than women do.

4 Women have three vitally important physiological functions that men don't have: menstruation, pregnancy and lactation.

5 Overall, men are at least 50 percent stronger than women; women's lung capacity is 30 percent less than men's.
