If you’re hoping to attend medical school in Philadelphia, you have a lot of company.
Each year, U.S. News & World Report evaluates medical schools on a variety of measures, such as quality of research and how hard they are to get into. This week, it published a list of the schools that received the most applications for the school year that began in the fall of 2016, with Drexel University, Thomas Jefferson University’s Kimmel Medical College, and Temple University’s Katz School of Medicine making the list.
Nationwide that year, 53,029 prospective students applied to a U.S. medical school, U.S. News said, citing data from the Association of American Medical Colleges. Nearly 700,000 applications were submitted to the 118 ranked medical schools that shared their data with U.S. News.
