A new Iranian study discovered that peppermint might boost your running performance and help you shed flab.
According to Laura Tedesco of Menshealth.com, men that drank mineral water mixed with three drops of peppermint essential oil every day for 10 days improved their running stamina and power, and doubled the amount of fat they burned.
“Pre-workout peppermint may relax your muscles, increase the amount of oxygen transported to your muscles and brain, and lower your lactate levels,” study author Abbas Meamarbashi, Ph.D. reported to Tedesco.
Not into spiked water? Try sucking on mints the day of a run for a similar effect.
