Do you know proper gym etiquette?

With winter, comes more indoor workouts. Whether you prefer to go to a gym or to a studio for yoga or spin class, you know you will have an overall better experience when all members treat each other with respect. But that doesn't always happen, right?

If last Thursday's smattering of snow is any indication, we are in for a long winter, which means you will more than likely be looking to do your daily workouts inside where it is warm and dry. Whether you prefer to go to a gym or to a studio for yoga or spin class, you know you'll have an overall better experience when all members treat each other with respect. But that doesn't always happen, right?

According to DailyBurn, many of us are guilty of bad gym etiquette. In a survey by Nuffield Health, 74% of the people that were polled said that fellow members behaved badly while others confessed their own dirty behavior which included using someone's water bottle or towel and not staying home when they were sick. Some really courageous participants admitted that they have gone to the gym wearing dirty workout clothes and eschewing wearing deodorant.

So what are the top faux pas we tend to make while working out? DailyBurn asked trainers for their input and came up with a list of the 20 greatest sins.

The most egregious sins included: hoarding all the equipment so no one else can use it, not putting things back where they belong, and under dressing. This means forgoing not only shirts, but also underwear. You've seen that person at the gym with the tight workout pants that leave no room for the imagination.

Gym buddies who blare their music while loudly singing along or who keep up a constant stream of chatter during their pushups also made the list as well as that treadmill neighbor who finds it necessary pipe up with corrections and advice whether you desire it or not.

See the complete list here. So go ahead and fess up. Which ones are you guilty of?
