Christiana Hospital
With 907 beds, the largest hospital in Delaware is recognized for its cardiology and cancer care. The Helen F. Graham Cancer Center has a high rate of enrolling patients in clinical trials. Its care model allows a patient to see a team of specialists in one visit, which can include a surgeon, medical oncologist or hematologist and a radiation oncologist. The Center for Heart and Vascular Health offers cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, vascular interventional radiology, cardiology and interventional nephrology under one roof. Christiana Hospital is a market leader in women's and children's health, with 6,641 deliveries in the 2011 fiscal year. Specialists perform a high number of vascular surgeries, open-heart cases and cardiology procedures, and treat a large volume of stroke patients. It is the only Level 1 trauma center between Philadelphia and Baltimore.
