Mercy Suburban Hospital
Specializing in stroke care, the hospital provides immediate access to an acute-stroke team 24 hours a day. The stroke team is trained in providing the clot-busting medication tPA, the only government-approved treatment for strokes that block blood supply to part of the brain. Central Montgomery residents also have access to advanced orthopedic and joint replacement surgery, as well as a Center for Wound Healing and Hyperbaric Medicine. A 12,000-square-foot cancer-care center is scheduled to open in the summer of 2012 to meet the needs and demands of the region.
