Abington Memorial Hospital

Known for its bariatric program, Abington Memorial Hospital is also one of the busiest maternity facilities in Pennsylvania. Every month, an estimated 400 births take place at Abington, which has 60-plus OB/GYNs. The hospital boasts large programs in cardiology, cancer, orthopedics and neuroscience, while its Level II Emergency Room attracts more than 100,000 visits a year. Abington is also dedicated to sustainability; its "Think Green" campaign recycling medical waste has earned it membership with the state's Green Hospitals Initiative.

Although Chester County Hospital covers a variety of health care fields, it focuses a lot of resources on its women’s health center, one of the few facilities of its kind in the region. Patients benefit from a full range of services, including gynecology, cardiology and orthopedics. The center’s “Screening Genie” program stresses the importance of mammograms.
