If you want to perform like a pro athlete (and who doesn't, really?), it's not only about the training: You are what you eat, too. Local dietitian Katie Cavuto explains that athletes need carbs, proteins, and fluids to ensure the body can rebuild and restore muscle tissue following practice or competition. Cavuto reveals the go-to diet strategies of Olympians and shares why each is essential for maintaining healthy bodies.

Katie Cavuto MS, RD is a registered dietitian and trained chef. She is the president of Healthy Bites, a company offering local and national culinary nutrition services. Katie is also the consulting dietitian for the Philadelphia Phillies, and a regular contributor on local and national TV and radio as an expert in her field.
