A: Thanks for asking! Most diabetics can participate in a variety of exercises, including walking, swimming, bicycling, strength training and yoga. Exercise can help with blood-sugar control and reduce your risk of heart attack, stroke and nerve damage.
Just be sure to get clearance from your doctor.
You'll also want information on checking your blood sugar before and after exercising - and midway through if you're exercising longer than 30 minutes.
